Ticket Terms and Conditions – Live Henley Literary Festival

  • Tickets are all individually priced – see each event for specific details.
  • We are only issuing E-Tickets this year. E-Tickets will be emailed directly after purchase and can be printed at home or shown on your phone.
  • Babes in arms (under 2) do not require a ticket unless the event is aimed at this age group.
  • Waiting lists will be available for all sold-out events. If any tickets are released or exchanged, the waiting list will be notified by email and tickets can be purchased on a first- come-first-served basis.
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless the event in question has been cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel or alter events due to unforeseen circumstances. We will make every effort to let ticket holders know in advance, but this is not always possible. Full refunds will be made for any cancelled events within 28 days of the Festival ending.
  • Tickets can be exchanged for other tickets of equal or greater value until 2 September.
  • During the Festival, any changes to the programme will be emailed to attendees, posted on the website and social media channels.
  • A booking fee of £3.00 will be applied to all bookings made online, over the telephone or in person at the box office during the festival itself. We are willing to waive that fee for customers making a second or subsequent booking, providing they make that booking via the telephone Box Office or in person during the festival. We regret that we are unable to waive the fee for any online bookings.
  • Random bag searches may be carried out upon arrival.
  • Tickets for customers who are registered disabled are sold at full standard price. We are happy to offer complimentary tickets for accompanying carers; please contact the telephone Box Office to make such arrangements.
  • Seating for all events is unreserved and doors open approximately 15 minutes before each event (doors may open earlier at the venue manager’s discretion).
  • All tickets for ‘book-and-ticket’ events include a copy of the relevant book as standard (compulsory) unless a choice is specified in the price.
  • A maximum of 6 tickets can be bought for all events online, unless otherwise stated. Should you wish to make a larger group booking, please contact the telephone Box Office.
  • Where a limit applies, only one transaction is valid per customer. Any additional purchases will be automatically refunded and only the original transaction will apply.

  • During the Friends of the Festival priority booking period, all tickets are subject to availability.

Ticket Terms and Conditions – Online festival

  • Tickets are all individually priced – see each event for specific details.
  • A booking fee of up to £3 will be applied to all bookings made. We are willing to waive that fee for customers making a second or subsequent booking, providing they make that booking via the telephone box office or in person during the festival. We regret that we are unable to waive the fee for any online bookings.
  • There will be no physical tickets, you will be sent a unique link for the event that can only be used on your own device. This link cannot be shared among multiple users.
  • We’re using the world-leading platform for online events Crowdcast; there’s nothing to download – you’ll be sent an email with the link to watch on the day.
  • Events will work on phones & tablets but are best watched on a computer or laptop – wherever you have the strongest internet connection.
  • Our tech team will work with all authors & interviewers to ensure internet, sound and vision is optimised for the best possible viewing experience.
  • Should your internet fail you or something prevent you watching live, the event will remain available to view for another 24 hours using the link sent to you.
  • Where applicable, postage of books is charged at £3.50 per book for UK postage only. If you would like a book to be sent internationally please contact the box office via phone and we can arrange it.
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless the event in question has been cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel or alter events due to unforeseen circumstances. We will make every effort to let ticket holders know in advance, but this is not always possible. Full refunds will be made for any cancelled events within 28 days of the scheduled event.
  • If the online event has any connectivity problems we will not issue refunds but will send a recording of the event to you.
  • Waiting lists will be available for all sold-out events. In the event of more tickets being released, an email will be sent to the whole waiting list for the event/s in question. Tickets will then be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Getting onto the virtual event – bookings bought in advance: All ticket buyers will receive a live link by 11am on the day of the event (or the night before if the event is before 11am.) If you haven’t received the email by 30 mins prior to the event please check your junk folder, then call 01491575948 or email info@henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk preferably with an alternative email for us to send the link to.
  • Getting onto the virtual event – On the day bookings: If you buy the ticket on the day of the event you will receive it approximately 30 mins before as we have to manually add all same day bookings. If you haven’t received the email by 5 mins prior to the event please check your junk folder, then call 01491575948 or email info@henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk preferably with an alternative email for us to send the link to.

Privacy Policy

Filming

  • Many events or shows at the Festival are photographed and/or filmed. Buying a ticket affirms your consent to the filming, sound recording, or photographing of yourself as a member of the audience.

Lost Child Policy

  • All children attending events must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • If a child seems to be lost they should be led to the collection point at the venue, where they will be encouraged to remain until they have been re-united with a parent or guardian. At Phyllis Court, it’s the entrance to the marquee, at Christ Church, it is the reception area, and in the Town Hall, the landing by the loos.
  • Unless specifically stated otherwise in the Festival programme (printed/online), children under the age of two do not need their own tickets to attend events but must be seated on their parent/guardian’s lap.
  • All visitors are responsible for the welfare of their own children at all times when attending events and/or visiting Henley Literary Festival venues.
  • Henley Literary Festival maintains a Safeguarding Policy but responsibility for the care of any child lies with their accompanying parent/guardian.

Lost Property

  • During the Festival, lost property will be taken to the Information Point located at the box office in the Festival Hub.
  • Once the Festival ends, all lost property is collected and held at the Festival office. Items will be kept for a period of two weeks following the last day of the Festival, at which point it will be disposed of.
