Fine quality fabrics lie at the very heart of what the company does best. Sofas & Stuff pioneers with an exceptional level of choice and consistent quality, sourcing from the best mills in Britain and beyond. Their remarkable fabric library includes distinctive woven and printed linens and exclusive collections created in collaboration with the brand’s partners, the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The company has recently launched its second RHS collection featuring designs by renowned artist and garden designer Gertrude Jekyll in the glorious setting of RHS Chelsea Flower Show. These exclusive fabrics sit alongside collections from celebrated British and international fabric houses, such as Colefax & Fowler, Linwood and Sanderson.
Based in rural West Sussex, the company was established by Andrew Cussins and his wife Julia in 2009, starting with just four employees in a barn location in Fittleworth, where their flagship store and head office are still based today. The company, however, draws on over 70 years of family experience in furniture design and retail with Andrew beginning his career in furniture in 1980 as an apprentice within his father’s long-established business. The family’s expertise in and enthusiasm for fine quality upholstered furniture continues, with sons Sam & George also part of the business.
