For 2024 we've partnered with local Henley food and drink businesses to guide you to some of the best places to grab a bite to eat or a quick drink in between events.

The Relais Henley is a unique riverside retreat in the heart of this historic town and only moments away from Henley Literary Festival’s venues. Built in the 1530’s, guests sleep in rooms named after the notable guests that once stayed there including King Charles I and Grace Kelly (who visited when watching her brother competing in the Henley Royal Regatta). A hidden gastronomic gem, the hotel houses Restaurant Dominic Chapman, the eponymous award-winning restaurant of the chef who worked with Heston Blumenthal at both the Fat Duck and The Hind’s Head before becoming head chef at The Royal Oak earning the restaurant a Michelin star. At his latest Henley restaurant at The Relais, he is serving up farm to table, seasonal, good honest food with prices for a two-course set lunch menu starting from £20. Alternatively, head to the Henley Deli for a relaxing cup of Henley Coffee and a delicious pastry.

Opened in December 2021, Pavilion is an award-winning, independent delicatessen, fine food store and cookery school. Located in a beautiful grade II listed building dating back to the 1400’s, Pavilion has a prominent location in the centre of Henley’s historic Market Place, also home to the annual Henley Royal Regatta. With a team of talented chefs creating deli dishes with the best local ingredients and producers in our open plan kitchen, Pavilion is more than just a shop, it is a sensory celebration of the delicious flavours and aromas of wonderful food. We aim to create restaurant quality food, but not at restaurant prices. We are incredibly proud to have won a number of awards for our products, such as being awarded the highest 3-Star accolade at the 2022 Great Taste Awards as well as Gold at the Global Spirits for our Pavilion gins, and also having our fish pie rated as the best in the country.

Our role in the community is hugely important to us, and in addition to being a hub of all thing’s foodie – including a wide range of cookery classes, catering and events – we also love to guide budding chefs of the future through our work with local school children. At Pavilion, we aim to build bonds through a love of food.
