Tom Fort: Lido Land

From the Serpentine to Reading, lidos are making a splash across the UK once more. Henley favourite Tom Fort takes us around pools past and present, from Wales’ only surviving Lido Ponty - built a century ago to help miners wash off their daily dirt - to Portobello in Edinburgh where Sean Connery was once a lifeguard. Blending travelogue and history with his characteristic wryness, Lido Land shows that they tell us more about social trends, progress and political ideology than we might think.
