Margaret Hodge

Never one to shy from a fight - with the BNP, civil servants, fellow MPs or the Labour leadership - Battle Axe is an apt memoir title for Dame Margaret Hodge. She led Islington Council in the 80s and held ministerial positions throughout the Blair and Brown years with portfolios including business, culture, education and pensions. The first elected (and female) chair of the Public Accounts Committee, now a baroness, joins us to reflect on the battles and campaigns that have shaped her life.
