Elif Shafak
What can literature hope to offer when the world feels broken? Find out as Elif Shafak joins us days ahead of the publication of In One Brief Moment All Eternity. A profound meditation on creativity in times of political crisis and war, it journeys from revolutionary France to Beirut, Egypt and Istanbul. Reimagining the life of Gustave Flaubert through the women who shaped him, Elif offers a powerful meditation on literature’s enduring role in a fractured world. The author of The Island of Missing Trees, 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World and There are Rivers in the Sky, last year’s highest-selling literary novel in the UK, returns to Henley.
Elif will be in conversation with Bidisha Mamata.
