Few of us could write a memoir titled How I’ve Tried to Change the World; only Alexei Sayle can sum up both his comedy and campaigning with the subtitle By Walking Down the Middle of the Street Shouting. He takes a bracing, hilarious look back at seven decades of social history, from Vietnam rallies as a teenager to Gaza protests as a septuagenarian, via miners’ strikes and marches against the Iraq invasion. The actor, author and stand-up icon returns after appearing at our fourth Festival in 2010.
